Paul Bodden: Home

WELCOME to the QUIRKY MUSICAL WORLD of PAUL BODDEN and PINK TOWER MUSIC! A WORLD OF SONG where hearts may be lost, stolen or found among the other missing body parts…

A WORLD OF DREAMS, LAUGHTER, PASSION AND DEEP LONGING given expression in a DISTINCTIVE VOICE that contains hints of Delta Blues, Gospel, Ragtime, Jazz, and contemporary Art Song, Cabaret and Musical Theater...

A WORLD FOUND within the 14 tracks of PAUL’s debut CD, I LOSE MY HEART (AND OTHER BODY PARTS…) So glad you stopped by. Take a look around. You can listen to sound clips of the songs and read the lyrics from the CD if you go to "music & lyrics" (<- That way, if, like me, you confuse your left with your right.)

Oh, also, don't forget to sign the guestbook. Enjoy!

The Oak Room Salon at the Algonquin Hotel - July 23, 2009

I've been really enjoying attending and performing at the new summer series of the Thursday night Oak Room Salon at the Algonquin Hotel. Just got back from the second week produced by Peter Napolitano, Hosted by Mark Janas, co-produced by Tanya Moberly with Roy Sander as artistic consultant.

Last week, special guest, Julie Wilson, made special mention of the original song I performed "Born To Be His (The Older Man)". She said to my partner, Thad, "What a wonderful song your partner has written about you!"

This week, I performed another of my songs, "Dreaming Inside Your Hand", and got requests for copies of the music which I was happily able to fulfill on the spot!

Metropolitan Room Debut! - February 15, 2009

PAUL BODDEN : FOOL FOR LOVE
THE METROPOLITAN ROOM
February 15, 21 & 28, 2009

This show went very well by all accounts!

See Jan Wallman’s Review @ Cabaret Exchange
Enthusiastic crowds turned out for all three dates. Opening night was particularly gratifying as Jazz-singer Barbara Lea, to whom I was paying special tribute, was able to attend.

There was praise for Seth Weinstein’s playing and arrangements, Peter Napolitano’s direction, and Michael Barbieri’s work on lights and sound.
After the last show, Steve Ross said that I had been “giving lessons in being vulnerable and connecting to the audience.”

Stay tuned for future dates!

Barbara Lea Tribute/Benefit - July, 2008

A TRIBUTE TO JAZZ LEGEND BARBARA LEA I was a privileged to speak at this wonderful event honoring and benefiting Barbara at The Laurie Beechman Theatre on July 25, 2008.

What a line up! Some the top names in Jazz and Cabaret came out to pay tribute to this very special and beloved singer. They included Bob Dorough, Steve Ross, Daryl Sherman, Ronny Whyte, The Loren Schoenberg Big Band, Marlene VerPlanck, Keith Ingham and Annie Dinerman, among others. Sue Matsuki and Karen Oberlin did a great job both as performers and as the organizers of the evening.

Do visit Barbara’s website and buy her CDs or even contribute to her fund at <http://www.barbaralea.com/>
